Cusp protection with direct technique in posterior teeth thanks to thermoviscous composite

The limit between direct technique and indirect adhesive technique (inlay) is always difficult and depends on many factors: thickness of the cuspidary walls, quality of the enamel and dentine present, if the element is vital or devitalized etc ... All contextualized in a mouth that is different from patient to patient and according to the materials.

Is it possible to take advantage of new BULK and thermoviscous materials in large direct fillings, perhaps with the loss of one or more cusps?
