Posterior restorations with ormocer-based composites

Direct composites can be used to fabricate highly load- and wear-resistant restorations for posterior teeth (including cusp replacement), which in many cases compete with indirect ceramic restorations. Most composites contain organic monomer matrices based on classical methacrylate chemistry. Alternatively, ormocer-based composites have proven clinically successful.
VOCO

New types of ormocer-based composites no longer contain conventional monomers in their formulation in addition to the ormocer chemistry. They present excellent results in laboratory tests and can be clinically used like conventional methacrylate-based composites. They are available in flowable and sculptable consistency, as well as with increased depth of cure as bulk fill restoratives. Based on step-by-step case documentations, the clinical indications of these innovative composite variations are presented in detail.
